The girls and I traveled a few weeks ago to the pueblo mágico Chignahuapan, in upper Puebla state, known for its aguas termales (essentially hot springs), esferas (glass Christmas ornaments), and barbacoa (a kind of lamb stew that I did not try because I had accidentally stuffed myself on two different kinds of pan...). It was a really nice town!

Me in front of a pretty church door!

We was bein' silly

"If you drink tequila and eat vegetables, you'll have really tight buttcheecks." Don't have to tell me twice!

More of da pretty choich

Which one is the Christmas tree and which one is the elote? (An elote* is corn (in this case, blue) with mayonnaise, cheese, and chile. It was my first street elote and I didn't get sick, which is a score for any gringa!)

*not to be confused with esquites, which is the same concept except the corn kernels are in a cup and not on the cob.

A beautiful church dedicated to the Immaculate Conception.

Post-swim in las aguas termales! It was really weird but also awesome being at a water park in December. It was cold, mind you, but the hot water + epic Mexican sun helped us feel nice and toasty. (Plus tamales and atole bought on the way into the park... those señoras really know how to get us!)

The tree they had up in the center! Prettier when all lit up at night, of course.

Spanish moss around the waterpark. What a view!

So far we have visited three pueblos mágicos in our beautiful state of Puebla and there are a bunch more to go... will I get to all of them before my May 31 end date? Time shall telll...
