Independence Day in Puebla!

September 15: Festivities, fireworks, and el grito* in the zocalo (town square).

*I found out that the "grito" does not entail everyone screaming at the top of their lungs at midnight, as I mistakenly thought. Rather, a speaker dictates a series of statements to which everyone responds "VIVA" (i.e. "¡Viva México!") and it ocurred at 11 PM. Still epic.
